Years ago had you come for a visit at my home perhaps you would have left your calling card.

I remember as a child visiting my grandmother in Virginia. In her foyer on a silver tray were cards left by her friends who had come for a visit. Sadly, such is no longer the practice. Perhaps this is something we could revive.

Since you can't visit me in person and leave your calling card, perhaps you will sign the guest book that I just installed in my side bar.

Wouldn't it be nice if some of these customs came back into vogue! I would like to see life slow down and have people start visiting friends again.

Calling cards were such a neat thing that people did. Our world is so different today that I can't imagine it ever happening again. But it would be nice!

For some reason I can't "see the post here on your blog about Peggy, but I could see it in my blog reader. So I'm posting about it here as well. It's wonderful to have such stitching friends, isn't it? I love that first design Peggy stitched. I don't know if I've ever seen that one before! The colors are wonderful, as is the design itself! I'll have to put it on the wish list (I assume it's still available?). I'm trying to be on a stash diet right now. :(
