An Emblem of Love by Nathalie

Last week after I finished stitching My Lady's Quaker from Jardin Prive, I sent the designer, Nathalie, a photo of my work. Much to my surprise and delight, she sent me back a photo of An Emblem of Love.

Nathalie wrote that she stitched An Emblem of Love over her summer holidays in 2008. She uses the summer time to stitch designs other than her own. Nathalie stitched An Emblem of Love on Zweigart's Edinburgh (36-count) Sand linen with one ply of embroidery thread over two linen threads. Isn't her piece lovely?

I've received lots of requests for a list of the threads I used for My Lady's Quaker. (See my post of September 9, 2009 for a photo.) Here is what I used:

124 Medium Brick (Needlepoint Inc.)
125 Medium Dark Brick (Needlepoint Inc.)
202 (medallion outlines) Very Light Russet Red (Needlepoint Inc.)
203 (flesh) Light Russet Red (Needlepoint Inc.)
323 Williamsburg Blue (Needlepoint Inc.)
693 Very Light Palomino Gold (Needlepoint Inc.)
913 Maple Brown (Needlepoint Inc.)
Olive Grove (Gloriana)

Thanks for listing your choices of thread for My Lady's Quaker. I really like how it turned out. I hope to get it stitched some day, too.

I love the fact that both you and Nathalie stitch other designers's works and not just your own, that is the sign of a true embroiderer in my opinion.
