Every day things get a little better...

Thank you for all the notes both on and off the blog. Your caring thoughts have truly meant more than you’ll ever know. THANK YOU!!

Thanks to a pair of drugstore reading glasses, I can now see the computer screen, read, and even stitch a bit (although I’m limiting my time doing all of these activities).

As Tom mentioned the other day, my long distance vision is better than it has ever been.

I have to admit I’m frustrated today with my close-up vision, but I know things will eventually be okay (and perhaps even excellent) once I get my new prescription glasses. However, that will be 4-6 weeks after my second surgery on June 28th. Until then, I have to remember to take off the reading glasses when I get up so that I don’t get dizzy.

Sometimes I just wear the reading glasses on the tip of my nose so that I can also look over the top of the frame. I really look like a little old lady doing that!

Thanks for your thoughts on the baby sampler. Almost everyone thought I should keep it as a surprise. I’ll have to hide it when Stephen and Michelle are in town for a baby shower.

Oh wow! 4 to 6 weeks after your next surgery! I'm glad the reading glasses work at least! Be careful with them! I look really silly -- I wear reading glasses on top of (in front of) my regular glasses! Two pairs of glasses on one nose. lol! Hope you heal up well and the second surgery goes well too!

I am so glad to see you post =) It was nice of your hubby to post how you were doing! I wore the drugstore glasses for a while and they made me sick so be careful how much you wear them. If your eyes have different vision they can do more harm than good so please be careful. I gave in and finally got my prescription and am doing much better - and yes, they are on the tip of my nose so I can watch tv too! I don't even have any grandkids yet but I guess I am getting practice looking like a granny, lol!

Ellen,
I am so glad your eyesight is much improved! I know you are happy to see the computer but especially to be able to stitch.

I wrote you not too long ago asking about how much Milady's Teal to use for the Quaker Schoolgirl. The newer Milady's Teal tends to be gray. I chose Crescent Colors 'Crystal Lake' and it is a very close match.

Take care of those pretty peepers!

I am really glad you are doing so well. Unfortunately I am long sighted so no operation is ever going to help my eyesight except for glasses. Just wait until the second op when you will be able to see amazingly.
Lots and lots of Love
