As I mentioned in my last blog post, at The Queen City Sampler Guild's day long stitch-in on Saturday, four of us were stitching on I Sigh Not For Beauty from C Street Samplers. Since we are each using different linen and threads, I thought you might enjoy seeing all of our samplers.
Here are Marsha K (on the left) and Lisa P (on the right) happily stitching away.
Marsha K is stitching her sampler on 32-count Natural linen using Needlepoint Inc. silk thread.
Lisa is stitching hers on 32-count Dirty linen using a combination of silks from Needlepoint Inc. and Hand-Dyed Fibers. Lisa has been a quilter for years, but is relatively new to cross stitch. I think I Sigh Not For Beauty is her first sampler. She is enjoying it so much that I think she may now be hooked.
Marsha is stitching her sampler on 28-count 18th Century Brown linen from R and R using two plies of DMC. For the most part, she is using the same colors as on the chart except for one or two colors she is changing to better show up on her linen.
And last, here is my sampler. I'm using 36-count Pecan Butter linen from Lakeside Linens and Designs and one ply of DMC thread. For the most part, I'm using the colors listed on the chart, but I have had to change a few colors that didn't show up very well on my linen.
