I always enjoy seeing what needleworkers do with my designs. Today I want to show you Chris C's beautiful Fruit of the Vine Sampler Huswif! Chris took this class just a few months ago in Onalaska, Wisconsin.

On my model, I stitched all my grapes in tent stitch. Chris did her grapes in Rhodes stitches instead. Below is a close-up showing some of Chris's grapes, I hope you can see the added dimension the Rhodes stitches add. Another bonus is that this is also a quicker method to stitch the many grapes on this project.

Chris wrote, Thanks again for a wonderful (and fun to stitch) design. I hope I did the grapes justice with my rhodes stitches. I (and everyone I've shown it to) thinks Tricia did a fabulous job finishing the piece. It is just absolutely gorgeous! So far I have shown my finished piece to three stitching groups and still have one guild that hasn't had a meeting for me to bring it to yet, and everyone is in awe of its beauty.
Chris, you more than did the grapes "justice". They are absolutely beautiful!! And I agree that Tricia did a wonderful job finishing the piece for you. Kudos to both of you!
As you can see, Chris is a very talented needleworker. I got to see some of her other wonderful projects when I taught in Onalaska. Much to my surprise, and delight, Chris sent me a beautiful hardanger pumpkin design that she had stitched so I now have a piece of her beautiful work. I'm hoping to see more of her needlework in the future.
The Fruit of the Vine Sampler Huswif is one of my teaching pieces. Once stitched, the project can be made into a huswif or framed as a sampler. To see when this class will next be offered, please check the teaching page at my website.
