After yesterday's long post, I thought I would do a short one today to show you my latest "finish"--Dutch Beauty, a reproduction Dutch sampler by Permin. I stitched this on 36-count Maritime White linen from Lakeside Linens & Designs using the DMC threads specified on the chart. This is a "biggie"--630 x 390 stitches. I plan to take it to be framed later this week.

The coming week will be a busy one. I need to finish assembling kits for my June classes in California and order supplies for the July classes in Texas. Also I will be working on a new WMN design. If all goes well, I'll also start on the Mary Wigham sampler from Needleprint.

I'd love to get some comments if you are enjoying the blog.

It's one of my favourite samplers - actually, from this sampler started my love for them :))) (though I still havent't stitched it). Wonderful finish!

Wow! Congratulations on a beautiful finish. That piece is so daunting and I couldn't actually envision myself doing it (although I have the pattern). Glad that you started a blog, and again, a huge congratulations on your finish!

Thank you all for your comments....I was getting lonely not hearing from anyone in a while. I know that I am guilty myself of reading blogs and seldom leaving a note. I think this has inspired me to leave a note on occasion.

Kim, I’m glad you find the blog inspiring. That is one of the purposes. I wanted to have a place to showcase the marvelous work done by stitchers and at the same time inspire others and also give ideas of what they can do with a design. I consider a design a starting spot—you take it and “do your own thing”. The blog is also a place where I can announce my new designs and also occasionally just ramble on.

Isabella, I am afraid that I have no idea how long this sampler took. It was a long time….made even longer than it should have been due to a few counting mistakes on my part. The sampler is easy stitching—just cross stitch over two linen threads. I found it helpful to have a small group that encouraged me along the way.

Like Barbara I read every blog but have yet to leave a comment because I am just very lazy! There you have it. I am so glad you decided to write a blog because I really love it. Your little man in Chicago is just growing so fast and he is so cute. Lots and Lots of Love Patti xxx
