NEW--Family Ties

In 1986, after returning home from my grandfather’s funeral in Virginia, I found a framed print of a wonderful poem about Family Ties. Having spent nearly a week with my family in Virginia, I was especially moved by the poem's sentiment. Although we are spread throughout the country, the family ties which forever bind us together are always there. I bought the print for my parents and another one for my aunt and uncle in Virginia.

When I was back in Virginia last month for my uncle’s funeral, I remembered the poem as I was gathering with members of my family. This lovely poem was the inspiration for this project.

I love this and it seems so fitting for me to have seen this this morning and in fact it brought tears to my eyes as last night we farewelled our darling daughter as she left for Africa to do some volunteer work there in an orphanage for two months.
