Nashville views

Heading south to Nashville it was nice to once again see grass after seeing only snow on the ground for several weeks.

Imagine my surprise to see this....
Then we stopped for gas, there was a fast food place with this sign. Of course, I had to take a photo.
Next is a photo of the rental van before it was unloaded....
And last is a photo of my bedroom the first night. As you can see, there was lots of work to do before being able to settle down for the night... (and this was only one view of the room--there are lots more boxes).

It has been lots of fun to see old friends. The first people I saw were Sally and Sara (Salty Yarns). Then yesterday at breakfast I got to catch up with Candy and Mary (The Workbasket) and their good friend Nikki from Italy.

In the afternoon, I got to see dear Giulia Manfredini (Giulia Punti Antichi) also from Italy. Her room is only 2 doors away from mine so I'll be able to see much more of her at the show than in the past.

Then last night before dinner there was time to visit with others including Deb (Stitches 'N Things) and Melinda (The Stitching Post). I think Melinda was particularly glad to be out of the snow in Baltimore where they still have 48 inches on the ground.

And last but not least, Louise Henderson (Cherished Stitches) arrived from North Carolina. Louise and I have known each other for a long time, ever since our days of attending Sampler Gathering. Our rooms are next-door, so I'm sure I'll be seeing lots of her over the next few days.

Today some shop owners are taking classes, and exhibitors are still arriving. My room is fairly well set up for the show which starts on Saturday. So I am just going to fine-tune some things and relax. The next few days will be very busy ones!

Tonight will be Meet and Greet in the ballroom. This is a chance for those who want to highlight their new things. I hope I remember to take some photos at Meet and Greet and also some of my room.

Until later...

I am enjoying seeing your photos of the first few hours you have spent in Nashville. What an experience you get to have! Also, I picked up one of your charts - Quaker Turtles - at a shop in St. Petersburg, FL today (Silk Road Needle Arts). What a fun and quirky design! I look forward to stitching it!
