More miscellaneous ramblings...

Some of you have told me how much you enjoy seeing photos of our grandson, Haiden. I thought you might also like to see a photo of our new grandson (yes, it's a boy) who is due on September 22nd. Stephen and Michelle posted 6 ultrasound photos last night, and I chose this one of his little face to show you. They had a hard time getting this photo because he kept turning around or covering his face with his hands. Are you sometimes at "loose ends" after you've finished a project? Now that I've finished the L Haworth sampler, I'm debating what I should do tonight.

Do I catch up on some reading? The current issues of both Early American Life and Victoria have articles and lots of "yummy" photos of the exquisite Plimoth jacket. Oops--I forgot that I also haven't yet read the new issue of Sampler and Antique Needlework Quarterly.
Or ...
do I resume work on the Deborah Walker sampler that I'm doing as a SAL with my friend Carol? Our goal is to have our samplers finished by the end of October so that they can be framed and shown off at our sampler guild's Christmas party in early December. Here's mine so far.The Deborah Walker sampler is part of the Chester County (Pennsylvania) Historical Society's collection. I'm stitching mine pretty much as it is charted although I have changed the linen.

Carol, on the other hand, doesn't like "gloomy" verses, so she's changing those to Bible verses she's asked her three children to choose. Since her sampler will no longer be a reproduction, she'll also change the sampler personalization. Another difference between our two samplers is that Carol's linen is much darker than mine.

It certainly will be fun each month to see our progress and compare the similarities and the differences of our samplers.

What a great ultrasound pic. I don't think I ever got one so good. I am due in 2 weeks, so I'll get to see my little girls face any day now. Also, your sampler is lovely. What an ambitious project. Good luck, can't wait to see more.

Oh, how exciting about your future grandson! And hey, if he really is born the 22nd, he'll share a birthday with my husband! :D I know that feeling of being at loose ends after a project is finished. Hope you settle into something soon. Those magazines all look like good ones! Deborah Walker is pretty too!

Great sonogram picture! There's nothing better than a new baby. :) Lovely work on the sampler, too.
