More wonderful goodies from Cheryl S!!

Several months ago I showed you photos of some of Cheryl S.'s marvelous works. Cheryl is from the Boston area and is a member of the Mayflower Sampler Guild.

Below are photos of Cheryl's completed My Favorite Things Stitching Basket. The first photo shows the outside of her basket along with her needlebook, pocket, and scissors weight. Next are three views of the inside of Cheryl's basket. You can see the six pockets, pinkeep, and the verse.Cheryl wrote, I used John Locke's quote to "leave one work and learn another" as inspiration. I use my basket daily.

Cheryl, I'm so pleased to see the beautiful job you did with this project, and I'm very glad that you find the basket to be so useful. When designing this project, I wanted to use a basket that would indeed be a useful size. Perhaps the next time I'm up your way, I can see your basket and other projects in person.

You may remember seeing more of Cheryl's work earlier this year. Just type her name in the search engine on the left side of this page to see more of her lovely projects. I have one more of her wonderful projects, A Needleworker's Sampler Huswif, to show you, but I'll save that for another day.

Thank you very much for all the lovely notes regarding my recent eye surgeries. The second one was on Monday, and things seem to be progressing nicely. I am "down to" 13 eye drops a day and have just returned from my third visit to the doctor this week. I'm now "free" until July 13th when I go back for another exam. I'm still plagued with minor headaches and am looking forward to when they are gone and also to when I can get my new eye glasses.

During the past couple of weeks I've been able to both stitch and use the computer for limited time periods. If all goes well this weekend, I may even finish stitching a new sampler model that uses The Gentle Art's wool threads.

Glad the surgery is over now! Hope the recovery is quick for you. Maybe we'll get new glasses at the same time -- I have an eye doctor appt in the middle of July. I know I need new glasses for the bifocal part. Talk about depending on my readers! lol!
