Another of the places I visited on my recent trip to the Lake District was the Ruskin Museum in Coniston. Thank you to the museum for allowing me to take photographs and share them with you.
As you'll see in some of the photos it was impossible to avoid the glare of the overhead lights. Regardless, I think you'll still enjoy the images.

Look at this beautiful pincushion! As exquisite as it is, I'm not sure I would stick any pins in it if it were mine.
Here is another beautiful pincushion and also a piece of lace to the left.
It is a shame that that museum lighting played such havoc with photographing this sampler. The sampler is so exquisite that I'm including this photo anyway. Below the sampler photo are two enlargements so you can better see the beautiful workmanship.

Next is a photo of another display cabinet and then two enlargementsof the cabinet contents.
And last, but certainly not least, is a quilt made by in 1998 by 8-year old school students. Sadly, the museum lighting made it difficult to get a good photo.

oooo I am not sure if as a child I went here with my parents .. love the old lace shots and the quilt is impressive for the age of the students :)you should on your camera have a scene setting and from there you can set it for museum shots :)that does help with the over head lighting (fingers crossed ) ..lol I am with you as well with the pin cushions would not be used .:) love mouse xxxxx

My goodness,Ellen! Your pictures of the Ruskin Museum and so many beautiful, intricate lace pieces are gorgeous. The trip to the castle and its' grounds are wonderful, and I love the photo of you under the beautiful flowering tree! So glad that you and your husband had such a special trip!
