Sylvie's luscious Fruit of the Vine Sampler Huswif

I had the pleasure of meeting Sylvie R. earlier this year when I taught some classes at Fobbles in Gubbergill, England, near the  Irish Sea.  Sylvie is from Deal, which is a seaport village in southeastern England.

Recently Sylvie sent me photos of her completed Fruit of the Vine Sampler Huswif.  What a beautiful job she did with both the stitching and the finishing!

Sylvie wrote, At last I have finished "Fruit of the Vine". I so enjoyed it. I have done the grapes in Rhodes Octogon, and it looks so effective. Thank you for your design.  You are a clever lady!

Here is Sylvie's huswif, needleroll, and scissors weight.

I rotated and enlarged the previous photo so you can get a better view of the top edge of the huswif.  You can also get a glimpse of Joshua and Caleb holding their massive bunch of grapes.

Here is the huswif inside with its thread rings, pockets, and mattress-style pincushion.

This is a close-up of the pincushion.

And last, here is the inside of the needleroll.

What an incredible job Sylvie did with this project!  Thank you so much for sharing photos of your beautiful work.

If you want to see more examples of Sylvie's beautiful work, click here to see her with her Mrs. Waddelow's Huswif and Mrs. Waddelow's Stitching Basket.

Fruit of the Vine is a class project and is not available as a retail project.
