Garrett and Hannah

Wow!  It has been a long time since my last blog post.  Time has certainly gotten away from me.

Shortly after writing my last post, we went to Fort Wayne to babysit our youngest grandson, Garrett, for a few days.  He is now 17-months old and is a real character.  I'm not sure when I've seen a child who laughs as much as he does.

One day we took him to the Fisher Price Farm at the conservatory in downtown Fort Wayne, very near where our daughter-in-law works, so she met us there for lunch.  After lunch she went back to work, and we took Garrett to the "farm" which was complete with a small barn and lots of wooden animals.  You could even "milk" the cow.  Actually you got water instead of milk.  Garrett was too young for the milking, but he found lots of other things to do.

Here are some photos of him thoroughly enjoying himself, first on a "horse", then "gathering eggs", and then on a swing.

Another day we took him to a playground where he loved the slide.  I think you can see the delight on his little face.

Since returning home to Cincinnati, we've been busy getting out an automatic shipment with my newest designs.  I gave some sneak previews the other day, and will give  more details in the next day or two. Anyway, the charts are now on their way to shops in the US, Canada, and New Zealand.

What a nice weekend I had!  On Saturday, my guild had an all-day stitch-in.  I've missed so many of these that I was determined to make it to this one.  I took my Hannah Lancaster sampler with me.  It was so much fun to see old friends and the wonderful things they were stitching.

Then yesterday morning (before church) I put in the final stitches on Hannah.  I felt like dancing on the rooftop with having finished her and with also having gotten out my automatic chart shipment.

Here are some photos of Hannah.  I'm sure you remember her bushy eyebrows.  Now, she's wearing a dress.  Filling in her skirt was rather boring, but at least there wasn't any counting since I had already done the outline.  When I went to the guild stitch-in, I took the sampler and only one thread color.  I didn't even need to take my chart.

Here are some other views.  The small line of writing at the bottom of the sampler (several inches below the border) is where I personalized the piece with my full name, the year, and my location.  This information won't show when the sampler is framed.

And here is the last photo showing Hannah in "all her glory".  I certainly enjoyed all my time spent with her!

CONGRATULATIONS!! What a major accomplishment. I think your next class should be on "how to stitch faster." At least, that's the class I want to take! =)

Garrett is just adorable! He looks so grown up in his jeans and aran sweater.

Congratulations on finishing Hannah! I love the idea of stitching personal details on the linen that won't show when framed. I'm going to start doing that!

I'm looking forward is seeing your new designs!
