Miscellaneous Thoughts and Ramblings

I can't believe that it has been nearly a week since I last posted something!  I'm not sure where the time has gone!

Things have been very busy around here getting ready for upcoming classes and also the Nashville Needlework Market.  Although I won't be at Market this year, I'm sending charts for the new designs to my distributors, and one of them will display my models at Market. Boy, did it feel good to get them sent off today!

Thanks for your notes about my recent problem with the Anne Maria Clarke sampler.  Several folks suggested I leave the wrong color thread in and not rip it out.  However, the thread color was so different from what it was supposed to be that I knew I wouldn't be happy.  The good news is that the correct threads arrived on Monday, and I've restitched the baskets.  I'll try to take a photo soon to show you.

Meanwhile here is a photo of my Ann Hair sampler. There are six long verses stitched over one linen thread, and I have in three of the verses.  They look wonderful but are very slow going.  I'll try to get some close-ups later.

And do you remember Mary Katz (from the Mercer Museum) that I stitched several months ago?  Here she is framed at last!  She is such a cutie!  I still haven't decided where I'll hang her.

Thank you for all the comments on my blog.   I do read them all and greatly appreciate those of you who take the time to write something.  I try to respond to the comments (if your email is available), but unfortunately recently I've been falling short of that goal.  I hope you'll forgive me. Another of my 2013 goals is to leave comments more often on the blogs I enjoy reading.   I'm doing better this year than in the past, but I still have lots of room for improvement.

Let me end with wishing you a very nice Valentine's Day 2013!

Both samplers are so pretty. I love the little Valentines. They remind me of the Old Fashioned ones you see at the antique shows.
