Not Much Stitching Going On Around Here.....

There hasn't been much stitching going on around here since my last blog post nearly two weeks ago.

First, we had some special house guests over Father's Day weekend.  Tom and I got to babysit  play with Garrett for most of Saturday while his parents went out house-looking during the day and  out to dinner in the evening to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary.  (Where does the time go?)

Then very early the next morning (5am, to be exact), Tom and I headed to the airport to catch a flight to Grand Rapids, South Dakota where we began a tour that included Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone National Park, Lake Jackson, the Grand Tetons, and more.  We had never done a tour in the US before and weren't sure how we would like it, but we really did.  The advantages certainly outweighed the disadvantages.  I think Tom particularly enjoyed not having to drive and being able to see all the sights along the way.

The scenery was absolutely breathtaking!   We also saw an incredible amount of wildlife.  Add to that, we had beautiful weather every day.  Things could not have been more perfect!

We took over 600 photos, but I won't bore you with all of them.  Instead, here are some of the highlights.

It was after midnight last night when we got home. Today has been a busy day getting caught up on things, but I wanted to take a few moments to share with you a few of our favorite memories.  In a few days, I hope to share some photos we took of some wonderful Indian beadwork at several museums and also some needlework we saw in Salt Lake City.

Wow! I never thought of taking a tour in the US but the one you went on sounds wonderful. The places you went are all places I want to see. And you're so right about the driver not being able to enjoy the scenery as much.

What a fantastic trip!!! My parents took me to Yellowstone when I was in high school and I absolutely loved it. There's nothing like being completely gobsmacked by the wonder of God's creation!

Ellen,
You truly got to visit the best part of the US, in my opinion. I love that part of our country! I can't wait to see more photos.
