Unraveling the Mysteries

I'm glad so many of you enjoyed reading about Salley Mavor and seeing photos of her wonderful work.  Several of you ordered her book after reading my blog post.  I hope you'll enjoy your copy as much as I do mine.

Barbara in Washington state told me that her daughter once attended a workshop that Salley led.  Doesn't that sound like fun?  If you can't make it to a workshop, you might want to check out Salley's new book coming out in 2015.  In this book, she will tell how to create some of her wonderful "people".

Also, Britisher Jo P. helped solve the mystery of some of the pictures.  Jo wrote that the picture I called Pease Porridge Hot is really a poem that goes like this:
I eat my peas with honey,
I've done it all my life,
They may taste rather funny,
But it keeps them on the knife!

Jo also told me that the picture of Hickory Dickory Dock has a second tale, Old Mother Hubbard.  Thanks, Jo, for catching that.

And last but not least, Jo suggested that the picture I couldn't identify might be One Misty Moisty Morning.  This was a new poem to me, so I googled it and found the words:
One misty, moisty morning, When cloudy was the weather,
I chanced to meet an old man clothed all in leather.
He began to compliment, and I began to grin,
How do you do, and how do you do?
And how do you do again?

I plan to go back and edit my last blog post in order to add the information Jo sent me.  Thanks, Jo, for unraveling the mysteries.

I will tell Laurie about the book. That "Misty, moisty, morning"poem was one my professor read in Kiddie Lit that I took years ago. I could only remember the first few lines, thanks for reminding me of the rest!
