And the name is...

Thank you to everyone who sent me suggestions for naming my new needle hornbook. You all had some terrific ideas!!

I've decided to name the project Blue House Needle Primer which is the name that Kathy from New York suggested. A hornbook is a kind of primer which was used as a teaching tool for children for several centuries. The word "needle" as part of the title lets people know that this hornbook holds needles. The words "Blue House" will help distinguish this needle primer from others I may design.

I'll be mailing Kathy a copy of the chart with the wooden hornbook and mounting boards. Just wish that I could send the this project to everyone.

We are slowly getting our house back in order after a series of things that "went wrong" during the past few months. This morning a painter finished the family room ceiling which had been repaired earlier. I was upstairs when the painter arrived, and Tom removed the samplers (15) from two walls. After the painter left, I was most anxious to rehang the samplers. I could remember the placement of about 2/3s of them but was struggling to remember where the others had hung. Boy was I relieved when Tom pulled out his Blackberry and showed me the photos he had taken! Wasn't that terrific? It sure made things easier for me.

I hope that you'll have a great weekend and spend some time with your needle. I haven't been stitching much these days--I can't seem to concentrate. I recently pulled out an old Examplarery kit (Elisabeth Rhode) that we got on one of the Sampler Gathering trips. Elizabeth's sampler is small and very simple--the perfect thing for me to work on until I'm back to normal.

Congrats to Kathy!

That is awesome that he took pictures of your walls. It definitely makes it easier to re-hang items.

Thank you so very much for choosing the name I submitted. I am beyond thrilled. I was just getting ready to shut down the computer for the night when I say your facebook post.

Your DH sounds like he knows you well. Taking photos of the before so you will know where everything should go. :)

Thank you again.
