I seem to feel better each day, and things are getting back to "normal".
Yesterday a friend took me out to lunch. We hadn't seen each other in forever and it was really good to catch up. Judy had gone on the "Jacket Tour" so it was wonderful hearing about some of the places she visited. I'm looking forward to seeing her photos soon. This was such an incredible trip!
Yesterday was also a very good mail day. A dear friend in Germany sent me a copy of the new book, Samplers and Designs: Three Centuries of European Samplers/Mustertucher: Stickmuster aus drei Jahrhunderten. As the title implies, this book is written in both English and in German. My next newsletter will have an article with lots of information about this beautiful book.
I'm busy this week packaging the charts for my three new designs. If all goes as planned, next week I'll be shipping the charts to the shops on my automatic list. (I say if all goes as planned, because my original plan was to ship the charts at the beginning of September, but... that was before my back problems began.)
As I was packaging the charts for the Blue House Needle Primer, I admired the lovely walnut hornbooks that are included with each chart. Each hornbook is unique because of the varying grain of the wood and the way each piece took the stain.
I thought I'd leave you with this photo of a very special Chicago fireman. I doubt he can help out much at a fire, but he sure is ready for Halloween on Sunday. Our daughter made his coat, and I found the cute stuffed dalmatian puppy.

It's so good to hear that you're getting back in the swing of things. That Haiden is so adorable -- and he's getting so big!
Glad you're recovering well. Your DGS looks absolutely adorable. :0)
Awwww! So cute!
Your little firfefighter is just adorable. And the Dalmation is the perfect touch. :(
I hope your back is feeling better. I can't wait to see the Needle Primer. Thank you again for picking that name.
You know I have a soft spot for firemen - my dad was a captain 44 years on the JFRD. The coat is too cute and the little man in it too ! I'm anxious to hear about Lorie's book. Glad you are feeling better each day. take care and don't over do it - Hugs Mel
