Months ago we decided that early March would be a great time for little Garrett to make his first trip to Florida to meet his great-grandparents for the first time. So after my teaching in Sarasota (and our trip to Blue Springs), our son Stephen, daughter-in-law Michelle, and Garrett flew into Orlando to first meet my father.
After a few days in Orlando, we all went to Jacksonville so Tom's father could also meet his great-grandson for the first time.
One of the things Michelle and Stephen wanted to do while we were in Jacksonville was to take Garrett to the beach. Of course, it was too cold to swim this time of year, but he was able to stick his toes in the water. He really seemed to like that.
When I saw Michelle looking at Florida State outfits for Garrett, how could Tom and I not resist buying this for him?My Florida State Seminole friends should get a kick out of this next photo taken in a Jacksonville seafood restaurant. Right? (Now how could I resist taking this photo?)
I love these two photos of Tom with Garrett. I took a similar one to the first one with Tom and Haiden on Haiden's first trip down to Florida to meet his great-grandparents.
Here are 4 generations of Chester "men".
And the last photo is of me with my father in Orlando. Daddy has had a rough week and was hospitalized for a few days. He was released from the hospital yesterday afternoon and hopefully will be returning to his retirement home apartment in a few days. Daddy will be 90 later this year.
