It's always so much fun to get photos from stitchers!
Recently I received these photos from Pat L. Pat was in the Needleworker's Sampler Huswif class that I taught last April for the Delaware Valley Historic Sampler Guild. The project can be either framed as a sampler or made into a huswif like Pat did.

First is Pat's huswif closed.
Next is the rest of the outside of her huswif and her needlebook.
Here is the inside of her huswif. The huswif has two large pockets--one is embroidered and the other is made our of dupioni silk. The beautiful overdyed ribbon was dyed especially for this project.
Here is the outside of the needlebook opened up so you can see the embroidery on both the front and the back.
And here is the needlebook inside.
Pat included the following note with her photos. I've enclosed a picture of my finished "Needleworker's Sampler Huswif". I really enjoyed stitching this piece and had a wonderful time in class with you. Your directions were very easy to follow and your personality and enthusiasm made the day go fast - almost too fast! I didn't finish it myself - I sent it to my expert finisher. I seem to have an inability to sew a straight seam - LOL.
Thank you very much, Pat, for the photos and very nice note. Your comments have certainly made my day.
A Needleworker's Sampler Huswif is a teaching project. It will be offered as a class twice more in 2013--first in Denver in April and again in early September in Chicago. More details are here.
Upcoming Teaching Event in San Francisco
Registration for the early June classes will be ending in a couple of weeks. If you are interested in attending, please make sure you register soon. Contact information and descriptions of the classes (Fruit of the Vine Sampler Huswif and A Lady's Worke Box) can be found here.

I'm greatly looking forward to a fun day tomorrow with members of The Queen City Sampler Guild, my local guild. In the morning, Darlene Anderson will be talking about Adam and Eve samplers. Darlene has become quite an expert on the subject, and I'm looking forward to hearing what she has to say. Darlene (who lives in Nebraska) and I are old friends. It has been years since we've seen each other so it will be lots of fun to also catch up on things. In the afternoon, we will have stitching time (I'll probably work on Ann Hair) and then we'll take Darlene out to dinner. It will be a long, but fun, day!
We are predicted to get some snow on Sunday (Palm Sunday). In the 36 years we've lived in Cincinnati, I don't remember it ever snowing on Palm Sunday. I do, however, remember getting snow on Easter.
Wishing everyone a great weekend. Hope you'll be able to make some time for stitching.

Your work is wonderful.

A fabulous finish of a beautiful design. Two amazingly talented ladies combining their talents. And isn't show-and-tell just the most fun thing?
Oh my gosh, Pat's work is just stunning! I'm desperate to take the Needleworker's Sampler Huswif class, Ellen!!! Help! lol! I'd heard about the Sampler Guild meeting on another blog. I so wish I could attend. A&E's are my favorite, as you know. Have a great time! Good luck with the snow on Sunday. I'm hoping we won't have snow Monday.
Great work Pat, you must be so proud. I'm very conscious of the fact it's almost 2 years since I took this class at Fobbles and my huswif is still only half stitched.
