Weekend Memories

Things have been busy around here getting ready for upcoming classes.  In fact, on Monday I shipped nearly 70 pounds of things to Colorado for the events I'm doing for The Sampler Guild of the Rockies.  I still have one more box to ship, plus my "teaching" suitcase is packed with other things I'll need.

We were delighted this past weekend to have our son, Stephen, our daughter-in-law, Michelle, and our grandson Garrett here for the weekend.  Garrett is now 2-1/2-years old.  Most folks think he's older because he is so tall.  His newest shoes are size 11!!

What a great time we had playing with trucks and legos.  On Sunday afternoon we pretended that a very large cardboard box was a house.  I set the box on its side, so Garrett could pretend two of the flaps were doors to his house.  How much fun he had going in and out of the house and playing inside it!  In fact he told me his "house" was "perfect".

We were constantly on the move, so I didn't get very many photos.  Here are two I took right before he left to go home.

Garrett is such a funny little boy, and the house seems very quiet now that he has gone home.  I thought I had picked up all the toys and put them away until his next visit, but look what I found yesterday still  in our family room.

Sunday after our family had left, Tom and I went to a lovely evensong at our church.  Our church has an wonderful music program.  Several times a year evensong is held, and this one featured our incredible adult and girls choirs.

Then we headed downtown for dinner.  Although the place calls itself a Scottish restaurant, we felt it was the perfect place to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

Here is a photo I snapped of one of the waiters.  The restaurant was pretty dark, so the photo isn't that great, but I thought you would enjoy it anyway.

On the stitching front, I've completed the February SAL assignment on Ann Maria Clarke.  Boy am I glad to have the border and the over-one text done!

I'm now back to Ann Hair and in the beginning stages of charting a new reproduction sampler.

YAY for CO! Can't wait til April. We are so looking forward to you coming. I was hoping to get a few things stitched but this stupid A&E sampler keeps calling me LOL. I am doing the hornbook over 1 and taking forever but may have it done :)

70 pounds? WOW!

Garrett is just adorable! My son used to play with those duplo legos as well. Funny how a snapshot can bring back the memories!

Ann Maria Clarke looks wonderful. The colors are really soothing.

Glad you had a fun time with Garrett, not standing still sounds about right for a small boy.
