First on the schedule was a trunk show.
Next I gave a brief talk on The Art of Scrimshaw. Here I am with Kathy, the guild's program chairperson, after I had finished speaking.
Look at my suprise when Kathy handed me a gift from the guild.
Look at what was inside--a pair of Sajou tartan scissors and a scissors sheath with my initials that Kathy had stitched! Wow! I love them! Thank you ladies for such a generous gift. Whenever I use the scissors, I will think of your guild and the wonderful time I had with you.
Then it was time for refreshments. These ladies certainly know how to cook, and look at the beautiful display of goodies.
Next was a short business meeting. This is a very active group, and it was fun to hear about all the wonderful activities they have planned for the future.
In the center of each table was a stack of cloth-wrapped packages. These were gifts for each member. Inside was a cute notebook and a package of needles. They gave me one also. Earlier in the week I was also given the sweet waxer which is also in the photo.
And then there were door prizes! About 6 ladies won these wonderful boxes with a stitched top and a pair of scissors inside! Would you believe that they gave me one of these too! Wow! My box lid was stitched in blue and will look perfect in my family room on top of my spool cabinet.
And then there was lots of Show and Tell. Stay tuned--I'll show those photos in my next blog post.
